Free World Wifi brings guest WiFi to the Chico business community.

Chico, CA, August 19, 2015:  Technology and advertising firm, Free World Wifi, is expanding in Chico thanks to the help of owner Ryan Donner. Raised in Chico, Ryan graduated from Chico High School in 2007.

Free World Wifi provides two services in one: Secure Guest WiFi solutions for businesses; and an effective local display advertising tool. Free World Wifi helps businesses take advantage of their existing Internet service and turn it into a tool that will put money back in their pockets through increased sales, all while adding an extra layer of security by directing customers through data secure routers. “We have designed the advertising to be minimally invasive to the user, while still being valuable to the business. With locations in three countries now, it’s clear to me that our clients are happy.” According to studies, 30% of people consciously choose to shop, eat and stay at businesses that offer free WiFi to their customers.

Chico currently boasts six Free World Wifi hotspot locations across town. Businesses range from restaurants, like The OVEN Marketplace & Café, to bars like The Tackle Box, and even Stoner & Associates CPA, an accounting firm. Press Release: INNOVATIVE FIRM BRINGS FREE WI-FI TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES

INNOVATIVE FIRM BRINGS FREE WI-FI TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Chico, CA, April 7, 2015 - A U.S. company is developing community-based free secure Wi-Fi networks. Free World Wifi offers wireless technology that improves the way businesses deliver secure Wi-Fi to their customers.  The service uses modern wireless routers for security and network efficiency.  Their cloud managed software delivers improved wireless performance. Company Founder, Ryan Donner, says, “We focus heavily on protecting our host locations’ security as well as providing an affordable advertising solution all bundled in one package. Most importantly, the service is free to the user and protects their privacy and personal information. Offering free Wi-Fi to customers is becoming an increasingly important feature of modern business.”

Free World Wifi’s service grants users a secure Wi-Fi connection at no cost while protecting them from threats on the local network. Use of the service does not require the user to log in with social media, email or other personal information. Users are directed to a landing page featuring hotspot sponsors before they can access the internet.

Since starting operation in the Fall of 2013, the company has grown steadily. They now offer free Wi-Fi hotspots across Mexico, the United States, and Spain. “We are continually seeking new hotspot locations and advertisers, and are always happy to partner with Hosts in new communities around the world.  We are ready to install new hotspots in any country or community worldwide,” according to Eric Robledo, Director of Business Development.

Current clients of the company are enthusiastic about the service.  The owner of Edge Bar in San Francisco, CA, shares, “We found a solution that worked well for us from Free World Wifi.  Given a successful roll-out to one of our bars, we are now rolling out to the others.  It provided a number of real benefits for us.”

One of the unique features of Free World Wifi network advertising is the ability to schedule your ads to promote your business when you need it most! Remember – the benefit of advertising on our networks is geo-targeting customers that are IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! They are ready to buy, just down the street, and looking for you and your products.

What is your slowest time of the day/week/month?  Do you have specials or discounts that you think would really drive new business if only people knew about them?  Use a Free World Wifi Advertising Package to produce business during your slowest business hours!

Bars and Nightclubs: Live music? Happy Hour? Daily Specials? Advertise your evening Happy Hour when people are planning their evening – several hours in advance.  If you run specials from 4 pm to 7 pm, then schedule your Happy Hour creative to run from noon to 7 pm when people are planning their evening. Advertise your live performance on the event day so that people know what’s going on at your venue tonight! Multiple promotions on the same day? Use GIF file formats to animate your ad and maximize the information you can communicate.

Restaurants: Do you have daily specials? Instead of running a generic “Daily Specials” ad 24/7, instead be specific!  If you have a Fried Chicken Dinner on Thursdays, then run your Fried Chicken creative on Thursdays…and do this for each daily special you offer!

The Real Truth About Public Wifi Security

The Internet is full of articles about how unsafe password-free wireless networks are, but are you getting the full story?

Article after article, written by wifi "experts" claim that using an unsecure wifi connection is the most dangerous thing you can do when it comes to viruses or hackers. These articles often claim that the best measure for security is password protection. While this is true for home security; you password protect your home network, much like you turn on a home security system, what about public spaces like restaurants, cafes and bars?

Today, offering free wifi access is a loss-leader. This is a way to draw more customers into a business. Here is the misconception. The business has a password for their wireless router. They just gave you the password. They also gave the password to the customer behind you in the long dark trench coat, sunglasses and hat. As soon as you connect, BAM! He has your bank account information.

Offering the password to you Internet connection is the same as giving out the key to your home security system. In this instance a password is useless.

Instead of telling everyone to avoid free public wifi hotspots, what these "experts" should focus on is, does the network have encryption and isolation software.

Isolation software prevents other users from accessing any connected devices on the same network. Encryption software scrambles your information making it very dificult for hackers to identify and steal it. These can be found on wifi networks without passwords, such as my company, Free World Wifi (www.freeworldwifi.com).

As with everything, take precaution, including when using any Internet connection and also when listening to the self proclaimed "experts".
